Shop … and Eat Small Business Saturday (Night)

Forget Black Friday, this actually helps the people you care about

Small businesses create two out of three new jobs in America and last year, two out of every three holiday shoppers purchased a gift they found on social media. So forget all the Black Friday hubub and digital chatter that goes along with it and support our local businesses today AND tomorrow on Small Business Saturday.

Small Business Saturday started five years ago to encourage local shopping. This year, the Small Business Adminstration is announcing  Small Business Saturday Night: America’s bars and restaurants are extending the hours on the daylong festivities. The SBA is partnering with the National Restaurant Association to encourage families who shop small to #DineSmall at local restaurants and watering holes in the evening.

80 percent of restaurant owners start their careers in entry-level positions. So the #DineSmall movement is a new way to support the proprietors who give Main Street its unique flavor.

If you’re going to buy in (har har) to the holiday shopping madness, do it investing in your local economy through local and small business gifts and food!
