A fresh perspective on happiness

Here’s how I think happiness works (in part) –
Recognize The Journey of Happiness – it’s all about perspective
In my 20s –
When I played co-ed softball and managed to catch a hard line drive to third base, I WAS VERY HAPPY (but sometimes to the degree that I forgot to keep my mind on the next batter up).
The other players on my team – they were NOT very happy.
In my 30s –
When I caught a hard line drive to third base without tumbling backwards from the force, I WAS VERY HAPPY (but sometimes in my happy excitement, I would forget about the runner on second base).
The other players on my team – they were NOT very happy.
In my 40s –
When I caught a one hopper down the line, I WAS VERY HAPPY (but sometimes forgot to throw the runner out)
The other players on my team – they were NOT very happy.
In my 50s –
When I managed to drop to the ground and cover before getting hit by a hard line drive, I WAS VERY HAPPY (but sometimes it took me awhile to just get up)
The other players on my team – they were DEFINITELY NOT very happy.
In my 60s (or very close to it) –
I AM VERY HAPPY JUST TO WATCH!
The other players on my team – THEY ARE VERY HAPPY.
Ultimately, we all ended up in the same happiness place. It’s all perspective – don’t you think?
